In the windows she sat watching, in the walls, a life held in pause— not abandoned, but in a long quiet keeping. She carried all that remained, her presence held within time, a face turning toward light. Two windows framed her, five walls enclosed her, three birds waiting. I entered through light and stone and called to where she began. She does not call out— only my echo remains, and within that remaining, she breathes again, and in that breath she is heard, and through that voice she is seen, and in being seen she returns, and in returning, she again receives her name
