Sandra Jane is a contemporary New Zealand artist based in Northland, where she paints from her rural studio overlooking the waters of Whangaroa Harbour. Surrounded by gardens, flowers, changing seasons and the ever-present sea, she draws continual inspiration from the landscape that has become both her sanctuary and her creative home. During her travels as a young woman in Greece, Sandra developed a lifelong fascination with Byzantine icons and the quiet power of sacred imagery—an influence that still echoes through her paintings today in the iconic gaze of her figures and their timeless, contemplative presence.
