“Passion Song”

My latest exhibition is deeply inspired by the words of the poet and philosopher Kahlil Gibran (1883–1931), who was born near Mount Lebanon.

His book Jesus, Son of Man (1928) is a remarkable work of spiritual imagination, written in beautifully flowing prose. In it, Gibran envisions the voices of those who encountered Jesus, imagining what his contemporaries might have thought, spoken, and remembered of his life, words, and deeds. The result is a deeply moving and scripturally inspired tribute.

Through richly textured surfaces, vivid colour, and symbolic imagery, these paintings are my own artistic interpretation of Gibran's poetic vision. Rather than illustrating his words, I have sought to translate their spirit into paint, creating works that invite contemplation, memory, and wonder.

For this exhibition, I have selected passages from Gibran's writings and gently intertwined them with my own reflections, creating a unique and deeply personal homage to the enduring beauty of his prose.
